About CQ Test and Tag

 Any business (Including Organisations) using electrical equipment in their workplace needs to ensure it is regularly tested and tagged.  

Workplace Safety: It helps ensure electrical equipment is safe to use, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. 

Legal Compliance: The Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld) requires businesses to ensure specified electrical equipment is regularly tested and tagged, according to a guideline from The University of Queensland. 

Hazard Prevention: Test and tag helps identify potential hazards like faulty wiring or damaged cables before they cause problems. 

 The validity of an electrical test and tag  varies depending on the environment and the type of equipment being tested, but generally ranges from three months to five years 

As a general guideline (Pending inspection of workplace by our Technician)

High-risk environments: In environments like construction, demolition, and mining sites, testing should occur every three months. 

Moderate-risk environments: Factories, warehouses, and production areas typically require testing every six months. 

Low-risk environments: Places where equipment is not frequently used or prone to damage (e.g., server rooms) may only need testing every five years. 

Intermediate environments: Environments where equipment cords are flexed or exposed to abuse, like kitchens (non-commercial), bathrooms, and offices, require testing annually. 

Depending on the tests required, and the access to the equipment, we can carry out 8-12 tests per hour. This includes, Visual Inspection, electrical tests as per AS/NZS Standards, Recording the test and installing the Tag.
